Yes, email hosting is included with all Skyrack hosting plans, giving you the flexibility to create professional IMAP email accounts using your domain, such as @yourbusinessdomain.com.au. With cPanel-based email hosting, you can set up unlimited email accounts, with storage based on the total space of your hosting plan. For example, if you’re on a 10GB plan, this space is shared between your website files and email accounts. Any remaining storage after your website’s needs can be fully utilised for email.
Additionally, all emails are automatically included in our website hosting backup system. This means your emails are securely backed up alongside your website data, providing peace of mind and easy recovery options. Unlike other email providers that require separate backup plans, Skyrack includes email backups at no extra charge as part of our hosting package.
If you require a larger amount of email storage which well exceeds the plans we offer, contact us as we can price out a custom solution.
Yes, we perform regular backups to ensure that your data is protected and can be quickly restored in case of any issues. Our backup system is designed to provide multiple layers of data security and flexibility for restoration:
Hourly Off-Site Backups: During peak hours (4:00 am - 9:00 pm AEST), we perform hourly backups of your hosting account and data, which are securely stored off-site. These backups are managed by Acronis and accessible directly through cPanel, enabling you to restore data yourself with ease whenever needed. (we can also help you restore this data if you are unsure about doing it yourself)
Backup Retention Periods
These retention periods ensure that you have multiple recovery points available, whether you need to restore recent changes or access an older version of your data.
Our multi-tiered backup strategy offers peace of mind and flexibility, allowing you to restore your data quickly and efficiently if ever needed.
Absolutely. We host many websites for clients in New Zealand, providing speeds to New Zealand based customers that are on par with those located in Australia. Our Australian data centres offer high connectivity to New Zealand, ensuring your site loads quickly and performs reliably for Kiwi visitors.
For even faster speeds and enhanced performance, we also offer a local CDN and DNS solution through QUIC Cloud. QUIC.cloud CDN features worldwide coverage with a rapidly growing global network of Points of Presence (PoP), including a node in Auckland, New Zealand. This means your domain’s content is delivered across the shortest possible distance to users, ensuring fast load times and a seamless experience, wherever your audience is located.
Many of our New Zealand customers choose to host with Skyrack in Australia as a safeguard against natural disaster risks that can occasionally impact data infrastructure in New Zealand. Hosting with us provides an extra layer of stability and security for their online presence.
Getting started with Skyrack is straightforward and hassle-free. Simply select a hosting plan that suits your needs and follow the steps to finalise your order. If you’re moving from another host, we provide free migration services, including security hardening for WordPress sites, so your website is in safe hands from day one.
If you're not sure where to start and are launching a new site or migrating an existing one, we’re here to support you at every step. Get in touch and tell us your requirements!
We’re committed to offering flexibility and freedom without the constraints of lock-in contracts. We believe that our quality of service will speak for itself, so all our hosting plans are offered on a month-to-month basis. This means you can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your plan whenever you need, without any cancellation charges. For those who prefer the convenience of an annual plan, we also provide a prorated refund for any unused months should you choose to cancel early. Our goal is to give you reliable hosting and peace of mind, knowing that your commitment to Skyrack is always on your terms.
All of our hosting servers are located within Australia, ensuring premium connectivity and faster loading times for your website. With our Australian-based infrastructure, your data is hosted closer to your audience, enhancing performance and reliability compared to international hosting options.
In addition to speed, hosting within Australia offers enhanced privacy and legal protection. Your data is stored securely within our ISO 27001-certified Australian data centres and is protected under Australia’s strict privacy laws, including the Australian Privacy Principles. This means your information remains safe, private, and compliant with local regulations, shielding it from foreign interference.
We also conduct regular PCI compliance scans to strengthen security and safeguard your website and data against potential vulnerabilities. Access to our servers is strictly limited to our dedicated Australian support and server administration team, ensuring that we provide secure, dependable hosting that you and your customers can trust.
When it comes to hosting storage, there’s a big difference between Enterprise-grade SSDs and NVMe drives. We use Enterprise SSDs, which are designed for stability, durability, and consistent high performance under heavy loads.
Many hosting providers advertise "NVMe" drives, but it’s important to note that these are often consumer-grade NVMe drives, chosen to reduce costs. While NVMe drives theoretically offer up to 12x faster speeds than traditional SSDs, this performance advantage is rarely noticeable in shared hosting environments, as many providers cap Disk I/O (the speed at which data is read from or written to the storage drive) to manage resources. This limitation means that even though NVMe drives are faster on paper, the actual speed increase for customers can be minimal or irrelevant.
Our choice of Enterprise SSDs ensures you get stable, dependable performance without the marketing hype. Enterprise SSDs are built for the demands of hosting environments, ensuring reliable performance for your site, even under heavy traffic and data loads.
Low contention means we intentionally limit the number of accounts hosted on each server. Many hosting providers maximise server capacity to reduce costs, leading to high contention - where too many websites are competing for the same resources. This often results in slower load times, performance fluctuations, and even potential downtime during traffic surges.
With low contention on all of our hosting servers, each website benefits from greater and often guaranteed access to critical resources like CPU, RAM, and Disk I/O. This approach not only results in faster, more stable load times but also allows your website to handle traffic spikes more effectively. In addition, low contention means there’s less impact from other accounts on the server, ensuring that your site’s performance remains consistently high.
We prioritise your website’s security with a multi-layered approach that addresses both proactive defense and continuous monitoring:
Imunify360: We utilise Imunify360, which provides real-time malware scanning, a Web Application Firewall (WAF), and Intrusion Prevention/Detection Systems (IPS/IDS). This suite constantly monitors and mitigates threats across all hosted websites, helping to keep your site safe from malware, hacking attempts, and malicious traffic.
Account Isolation with CloudLinux: Our servers are powered by CloudLinux, which isolates each account in a secure environment. This isolation ensures that even if one account experiences issues, it does not affect other websites on the server, adding an additional layer of protection.
Free SSL Certificates: We include SSL certificates with all hosting plans, which encrypts data between your website and its visitors, protecting sensitive information and enhancing your site’s credibility.
Proactive Security Hardening: For WordPress sites, we go the extra mile by applying complementary security hardening during the migration process. This includes leveraging WP Toolkit and manual security configurations to prevent common vulnerabilities, ensuring your site is fortified from the start.
Regular Backups and Recovery: We perform scheduled backups to protect your data, ensuring that in the event of a security issue, your site can be quickly restored to a recent version.
With this comprehensive security framework, we help to keep your website secure and protected from emerging threats.
