cPanel hosting FAQ

Questions we get asked

Where are your cPanel hosting servers?

Our servers are in a Sydney data centre, and Skyrack is Australian owned, with our team operating between Sydney and Adelaide. Keeping the servers local means faster loads for Australian visitors and your data stays in the country. Our DNS network has nodes in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide. More detail is on our data centres page.

What is included with cPanel hosting?

Each plan includes cPanel, the LiteSpeed web server, Enterprise SSD storage, free SSL, unlimited email accounts and databases, and hourly off-site backups. You can create as many email addresses on your own domain as your storage allows. There are no lock-in contracts, and our team supports you by email, online chat or call-back.

Is cPanel website migration free?

Yes. The Skyrack team copies one existing cPanel account per hosting service, with its site, email and databases, to our servers at no cost, tests it, and then guides the DNS switch, generally without downtime. cPanel-to-cPanel migrations are free; ask us about other platforms. Start with our free migration service and we will look at your account first.

Which cPanel plan should I choose?

CP 1GB and CP 2.5GB suit small sites and email. CP 5GB suits a business site with regular traffic. The CP+ plans from 10GB to 20GB give more CPU, RAM and storage for larger sites, stores and agencies. Prices run from $4.98 to $25.98 a month and you can change plans later. Our guide to choosing a hosting plan explains what to look for.

Is this low-cost hosting a compromise?

No. We invest heavily in our hosting platform, which means fewer faults and fewer support requests, and that keeps our costs and our prices down. Plans from $4.98 a month are on shared servers, and no features are removed to reach that price: every plan has LiteSpeed, SSD storage, free SSL and hourly off-site backups. The larger plans add CPU, RAM and storage. If you need dedicated resources, see our managed VPS hosting.

What is the difference between cPanel and WordPress hosting plans?

They are the same plans: the same cPanel platform, Sydney servers, six sizes and prices, and both include WP Toolkit. The WordPress hosting page is written for WordPress sites and this page for everything else. The WordPress management tools are included (see what is included). If you would rather not do WordPress upkeep yourself, the optional add-ons are WP Caretaker ($15.00 per month) and WP Custodian ($60.00 per month), each for a single site.

Can I upgrade my cPanel plan later?

Yes. You can upgrade as you grow, and billing is month to month or annual with no lock-in. When a site outgrows shared hosting, we can help you move to a VPS. The shared hosting or VPS guide explains when that makes sense.

What uptime do you commit to?

We publish a 99.9% uptime SLA. The full terms are on our service level agreement page, and current service status is always visible on our public status page. Hosting runs on LiteSpeed and Enterprise SSD storage, with hourly off-site backups as a safety net. You can see more on how the platform is built on our performance page.

Can I get a refund if it is not right for me?

If you ask within 30 days of placing your order, we refund your hosting payment in full to your original payment method. Request it by opening a ticket with our Accounts and Billing department. The refund covers web hosting plans; domain names, SSL certificates and licences are not refundable. Refunds are subject to approval under our terms of service.
