Security update: All Skyrack servers are running patched PHP versions, protecting client sites against CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619.

PHP security update: your questions answered

Are Skyrack servers protected?

Yes. All Skyrack servers run CloudLinux and are running the latest patched PHP packages, protecting client sites against the two critical PHP vulnerabilities announced on 21 October 2026 (CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619).

Why does my site show an older PHP version number?

The PHP project fixed the vulnerabilities in PHP 8.5.12, 8.4.27, 8.3.36 and 8.2.35. Our servers use CloudLinux’s PHP builds, which carry the same fix as a backport and keep their own, lower version numbers.

For example, CloudLinux’s patched PHP 8.4 reports 8.4.26 rather than 8.4.27. A lower number does not mean your site is vulnerable.

What is backporting?

Backporting means taking a security fix from a newer release and applying it to the version already installed. The vulnerable code is fixed, but the version number stays the same. It is standard practice for enterprise Linux vendors, including CloudLinux, Red Hat and Debian.

What about older PHP versions, like 7.4 or 8.1?

The PHP project does not release updates for PHP 8.1 and older. CloudLinux provides patched builds of older PHP versions through its Hardened PHP service, so sites on those versions are covered too.

My security scanner says my PHP version is vulnerable

Many scanners judge only by the version number, so they cannot see backported fixes and report a false positive. The reliable check is the package changelog, which lists the CVE IDs that have been fixed. If you need confirmation for an audit or a client, open a support ticket.

Reseller hosting FAQ

Questions we get asked

How many cPanel accounts does each reseller plan support?

RS 25GB ($44.98 a month) supports 10 cPanel accounts with 25GB of Enterprise SSD storage. RS 50GB ($79.98) supports 20 accounts with 50GB, and RS 75GB ($119.98) supports 30 accounts with 75GB. Bandwidth is unlimited on all three. Storage is shared across your accounts, so choose by total site size as well as client count.

Is reseller hosting really white-label?

Yes. White-label server and DNS are included on every reseller plan, so your clients see your brand. You create and manage their cPanel accounts yourself in WHM. Our DNS network has nodes in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide, which helps keep client lookups quick.

What is WHM and do I need to know it?

WHM is the control panel for managing a reseller account. From it you create cPanel accounts for clients, set their limits, suspend or remove them and manage DNS. Each client then gets their own cPanel login. The cPanel side is the same interface most site owners already know.

Where are the servers?

Reseller hosting runs on servers in a Sydney data centre, and Skyrack is Australian owned, with our team operating between Sydney and Adelaide. Your clients get local speeds and their data stays in Australia. You can read more on our data centres page, or see how the platform is set up on our performance page.

Can you migrate my clients' sites for me?

Yes. The Skyrack team migrates up to 10 existing cPanel accounts per reseller service for free, generally without downtime. Talk to us about larger moves. We copy each site, email and database, check it on our servers and then guide the DNS change. cPanel-to-cPanel migrations are free; ask us about other platforms. Reseller accounts with many cPanel users take longer because of their size. Read more on our free migration page.

Which reseller plan should I start on?

Start with RS 25GB if you have a handful of clients and want to test the model. Pick RS 50GB for a growing portfolio, and RS 75GB if you need up to 30 client accounts. Plans can be upgraded as you grow, and there are no lock-in contracts. If you need dedicated resources instead, compare our managed VPS plans.

Is this affordable reseller hosting?

Yes. Because we invest heavily in the platform and services behind our reseller plans, we deal with fewer problems and fewer support requests, and that saving is passed on in the price. Plans start at $44.98 a month and include WHM, cPanel, white-label server and DNS, hourly off-site backups and free SSL. The price rises with accounts and storage, not with features. You set your own prices for clients, so the plan cost is your wholesale cost. Support is by email, online chat and call-back request.

What if I outgrow a reseller plan?

You can move up to a larger reseller plan at any time. If you need more control or dedicated resources, a managed VPS with WHM and cPanel is the next step, and we handle the migration. The guide to VPS versus shared hosting covers when to make that move.

Can I get a refund if it is not right for me?

If you ask within 30 days of placing your order, we refund your hosting payment in full to your original payment method. Request it by opening a ticket with our Accounts and Billing department. The refund covers reseller hosting plans; domain names, SSL certificates and licences are not refundable. Refunds are subject to approval under our terms of service.

How reliable is the hosting my clients will be on?

Reseller hosting is covered by our 99.9% uptime SLA, set out in full on our service level agreement page. We also publish live service status on our public status page, so you can check it yourself before you answer a client.
